Mark, if you can reach out to Billy Strings, I know he’s a busy guy but he would be a great guest for the SWU fam. He’s a bluegrass musician and an amazing talent, he was just on NPR Tiny Desk Concert and his version of Red Daisy is so good and Guild the Lily. His mother just passed from her meth addiction and his father had his own drug and alcohol issues. Billy is from Lansing, Michigan and has quite the backstory but has broken through the generational curse and is a great talent but a humble man, he’s an old soul and cool as hell. He played with Bob Weir on some of the last concerts in Golden Gate Park with Dead and company. He made his first you tube video, “Dust in a Baggy” when he was barely 19 and plays with a Mandolin player and it’s a classic. His story is one of redemption, recovery and overcoming a tough start in life, he’s a relatable down to earth guy. I hope you see this message and can reach out to Billy, his message is one people need to hear, his music is dynamic and gives me hope amidst dark times in this Republic for better times ahead. Mark thanks for all you do, I see the judgement and the critics but stay strong brother, you are a trailblazer and your work is giving perspective in a no holds barred way, you are brave and courageous and are only reflecting back reality. You might take a look at Al-Anon, it can be good to see how to deal with the afflicted, for your own sake and peace of mind. Sometimes those who have nothing to lose can be a concern if you know what I mean.
