Is it good that I did not become Rebecca or Diamond or one of these "lost" humans. Their childhood is mine. The abuse was mine.
I have wanted to let it all go and be lost.
Instead I became one of the unseen humans who just survive.
My story is as important as theirs...except I conformed.
Rebecca and Diamond...me.
Who is really lost?
We are all lost souls living in this giant fish bowl. Be proud you did not stay on that path. You may not feel appreciated because you 'conformed.' That's not the point. The rewards for self-care and perseverance are internal and typically the largest rewards are the bottom half the iceberg, unseen but so much greater and larger than the peak above the surface. If you feel strong enough, share your story to YouTube, have a mock interview with Mark and get yourself seen if you so desire.
Wherever you are right now, you are exactly where you're supposed to be in this moment. Good, bad or ugly. Each moment is a learning experience and we have the opportunity to adapt, improvise and overcome. The secret is pretending to believe it, never giving up and one day waking up and finally realizing you've become the thing you've wanted and the pretending was not just that, but practicing and preparing for the moment you were truly ready to feel the feelings of believing in yourself.
Sincerely,
You are not lost, you haven't realized that you are the one to find yourself.

Kelsey,
How wonderful are you and this reply?!?
It is still a mystery to me how I did survive...
I am going to read this again and again.
I'll let you know when my story lands.
Thank you for the "push"
Kelsey,
I started today on TikTok.
I'm "sewgoddess1"
New to this...but I'm starting!
Thank you!
Aw! I'm glad my words helped you. I saw how many views your post had and 0 comments. I was like wtf, not a single person has anything to say? I felt compelled to reach out. I've felt like you, like many of the interviewees at times. I have my own story to share as well and though it would be freaking awesome to meet and share it with Mark, I realized I can do so on my own too. That doing so could really help me build my confidence. I don't have tiktok, but you'll be my "push" to download the silly app. I have been thinking about it for a while so this is the perfect inspiration. I look forward to hearing your story.
Kelsey... Not really a tiktok chic but, I thought it may be a place to start.
No comments...yeah. You didn't add one like "I made her do it!" Lol!
Hope you do comment some day and tell me when you start...whatever you start!
I apologize Melissa! I got distracted when I got back home to my wifi and forgot to download it. I'll check it out today. I'm in Alaska, not sure where you're located, so it's about 8:30am here, lol supposed to be working right now....
I'm in Indiana...1:30ish here 🙂 Have a great day!!!
