I absolutely love the work that Mark is doing. I’ve wanted to see something like this for as long as I can remember.
There are some ideas that I would love to see included and explored just from my life experience.
1) those with CPTSD due to childhood trauma… it is so misunderstood. I came from a white middle class upbringing in what many would refer to as ideal. However, it was a horrible, horrible lie and that situation has a horrid, powerful impact that is severely crippling. Most of us go unnoticed because we are masters at presenting ourselves as well adjusted people. But the impact of the abuse only festers and gains power with each day. I thought of this because Mark asked a man if he liked himself and it reminded me of myself. I not only disliked myself, I Hated myself until just the last couple of years and I’m 54.
2) interview an honest cop and what they have experienced that can lead to a deep bitterness. We desperately need to hear it from their perspective just as we’ve heard from the pimps, addicts, etc perspective. I think it would be largely beneficial for Americans to get a glimpse of the toll that the job often takes.
Thank you for reading and thank you to everyone who is involved in this humanitarian effort.
